Welcome to Truckee River Sanctuary! We are located one mile (4 Minutes) East of Historic Downtown Truckee, 10 minutes to Donner Lake and 20 minutes to Lake Tahoe.
We are a 50 minute drive to/from Reno International Airport.
Our three bedroom home sits on 2 acres in the Olympic Heights neighborhood. We overlook the Truckee River, the Martis Valley, Northstar Ski Area, and the Mt. Rose Wilderness.
Your room has a Queen Bed with a Tempurpedic mattress and down feather pillows and duvet. The room is small and quiet, facing out to our apple orchard. There is an iphone/ipod compatible stereo/clock radio and wi-fi access. We have a lot of local information in your room that you can look through at your convenience. You have your own private bathroom with a full shower and bath.
Truckee River Sanctuary is a homestead in progress.. we have chickens and vegetable gardens, and are creating a model for small community sustainable living. Polly is Well-Being Facilitator offering healing massage sessions and creating conscious community, and Don owns and runs his landscape business Native Landscape in Truckee.
In the winter you can easily access a lot of local ski resorts. We are 20 minutes to Squaw Valley, 25 minutes to Alpine Meadows and 15 minutes to Northstar.
In the summer, our backyard trail winds directly from the house to the river- there are great swimming holes when it's hot, and a good walking trail along the river. We are a 15 minute drive to access points along the Pacific Crest Trail on Donner Summit.
You MUST LOVE dogs and cats. We have three dogs and two loving cats.
